It Was The Swine Flu And Now It's Ebola
It seems like there is something about Ebola everywhere that I look. When I look on Facebook, there's several things about Ebola there. There's posts about people freaking out about Ebola and there's posts where people are making fun of those who are freaking out about Ebola. You'll find posts stating that the government is lying to us. You'll religious posts or comments referring back to the bible and saying that it's the end of the world. If you turn on the news then there's stories about Ebola on there as well. So I'm taking a few moments this morning to share my thoughts about the Ebola issue.
As we all know, it's not that long ago that people were panicking about the Swine Flu. At that time, I was working as a housekeeper for a University. During that time, it was our job to go in an disinfect and clean any rooms that occupied by students who had the Swine Flu. None of the staff got sick from cleaning those rooms. I think that the same can be said about Ebola. After all, the Swine Flu was a much larger wide spread of the population who became sick with it. Right now it seems that those who have been infected with Ebola have been on a much smaller scale. So with that being said, I think that as long as we all continue to wash and sanitize our hands as well as having any open wounds covered then we should be safe right?
I fully understand that there's no vaccine for Ebola as there was for the Swine Flue. However, I think that if people are constantly washing and sanitizing there hands as well as taking other precautions then the likelihood of it spreading to other people isn't as likely considering that the Center For Disease Control has said that Ebola is spread through bodily fluids. I think that everyone should take precautions but in a sense the same type of precautions that they would take during the flu season. I think that there are a lot more pressing issues that deserve my time and attention than Ebola. I'm not going to sit and fret all day about the possibility that Ebola has entered our country when I could be focusing on other things that deserve my attention more. If I take the precautions and end up with Ebola then all I have to say is that I guess it's all a part of God's plans for me.
